Adding colour to the Terminal in Mac OS X

This is something that Simon Green showed me when we were at Harlequin in another life.

I'm sure in those days we did it through .bashrc but I might be imagining it. I found a link that describes how to do it for Mac OS X's Terminal program though, by modifing ~/.bash_profile
